Together with the German Eastern Business Association, the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Serbia) is organizing the Regional Business Forum "The Western Balkans in 2030 and beyond." The event will take place in Belgrade on 13th and 14th September 2023. This forum is being implemented on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Zoran Djindjic Internship Programme of German Business.
The Regional Business Forum invites representatives from business, politics and civil society to take part in a joint time capsule and look at the economies, political perspectives as well as challenges and newest trends in the field of the sustainablity in the Western Balkans from the perspective of 2030.
In fast-paced, one-hour discussion rounds, different perspectives from the economic, political, and civil society sectors will be heard, with a special focus on the topics regional economic development, brain gain versus brain drain, the complexity of the Green Deal and the necessary reforms associated with it.
The closing event of our regional business forum will be the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Zoran Djindjic Internship Programme of German Business for the Countries of the Western Balkan, which was initiated in 2003 by the German Eastern Business Association and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development following the assassination of Zoran Djindjic. Since then, more than 1.000 young professionals have had the opportunity for practical training in companies in Germany and have contributed as employees in local subsidiaries and/or partner companies to the economic transformation of the region.
